A little over a year ago a wonderful and magical thing happened – editor Susan Allison discovered Between on Book Country and liked it. Within a week I had an agenting agreement with the fabulous Deidre Knight, and a two book deal with Berkley Books. The whole thing happened so fast I barely had time to breathe. It felt like I’d gotten caught up in one of L’Engle’s tesseracts, ending up on a planet far far away.
And then things slowed down. Way down. Time began to move like a heavily medicated tortoise.
It seemed at times that the book deal was a figment of my imagination. I actually emailed Deidre once to say, “Please tell me this is real, and I didn’t make it up.” A year seemed like forever to wait.
But the time has come, at last, and today marks the beginning of a fabulous Blog Tour put together by my friend Jennifer Morris. (Her blog, Books Make Me Happy, will be one of the stops on our tour). The actual launch of the actual book is only eight short days away. I’m so grateful that you are here today to celebrate with me. Whether you are one of my old friends who have been with me through this journey from the beginning, or a brand new visitor to my blog, I want to thank you for sharing this exciting time with me. In addition to my heartfelt gratitude, I’m going to give something away.
